Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Pelvic Floor physical therapy encompasses more than just treating urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. Pelvic disorders can lead to musculoskeletal issues, problems with sexual health, and digestive disorders. Pregnancy, childbirth, chronic constipation, surgery, trauma, and aging can lead to pelvic dysfunction. Fortunately, physical therapy can help!
At Restorative Physical Therapy, we combine manual therapy techniques along with personalized exercises and other modalities to strengthen, relieve pain, and restore function. It's important to note that not all pelvic floor symptoms are a result of weakness. It's very common to have tightness and spasm in the pelvic floor as well.
We specialize in the following women's health conditions:
-
Pelvic Pain and Dysfunction: We focus on decreasing pain/increasing function by implementing Integrative Manual Therapy along with targeted exercises to re-train the pelvic floor muscles and postural correction/education.
-
Prenatal and Postnatal Care: We use Integrative Manual Therapy to alleviate and prevent back pain and pregnancy-safe exercises to strengthen the core/pelvic floor.
-
Urinary and Bowel Incontinence: Manual techniques are used to re-train the bladder. We educate on strengthening the pelvic floor as well as lifestyle changes to alleviate symptoms.
